DECC release first Green Deal Statutory Instruments

Following the publication of the DECC’s response to the Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation (ECO) paper the Government have also now released some of the legislation required to initiate the programme.

The first of a series of statutory instruments (SI) have been laid on the Government’s SI database website and are:

The Green Deal (Energy Efficiency Improvements) Order 2012

The Green Deal (Qualifying Energy Improvements) Order 2012


In November 2011 the Government issued a total of seven draft SIs, as listed below, for consultation and some key SIs are therefore still awaited, such as the enabling legislation for the £1.3 bn ECO programme.

The Green Deal Framework (etc) Regulations
The Green Deal (Disclosure) Regulations
The Green Deal (Form of Acknowledgement) Regulations
