Responding to the Government’s latest statistical release on the levels of home insulation across the country, Syed Ahmed, Executive Director of the Mineral Wool Insulation Manufacturers Association (MIMA), said:
“Huge efforts continue to be made across the insulation industry to help make British homes more energy efficient and warmer. However, today’s statistics show that there are over 8 million lofts and 7.5 million cavity walls that still need to be insulated properly. The challenge to insulate solid wall homes is even greater with only 2 per cent of such homes insulated to date.
“The Government has set out its ambition to insulate all lofts and cavities - and support 1.5 million solid wall insulation installations by 2020. MIMA strongly supports this goal and are eagerly waiting the final decisions by Government on their flagship home energy efficiency programmes, the Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation (ECO) which are anticipated to be released next week.”
